Frequently Asked Questions (and super Quick Answers)

Below are the answers to the most frequently asked questions we get regarding Niamito. If you have an additional question that you can’t find an answer to, get in touch with us at info@niamito.com.

1. ABOUT NIAMITO

Is Niamito a smoothie?
No, no, and no. Although it looks like a smoothie and has a fresh, full taste, Niamito is much more than that. It’s a balanced plant-based meal, which means it contains carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals in optimal proportions. In short: a smoothie’s made to to refresh, while Niamito’s made to fill an empty stomach.

Is Niamito a vegan product?
Absolutely. It’s made from purely plant-based ingredients. This is confirmed by the internationally recognized and registered V-label certificate which guarantees the product doesn’t contain any animal-derived ingredients.

Is Niamito an organic product?
Yup. Every Niamito is made exclusively with organic ingredients, which is why it also holds an organic certificate.

Does Niamito contain gluten?
Our Niamito recipes don’t feature any ingredients containing gluten, but we use oat flakes without a gluten-free certificate, which means it may be present in small traces. Using gluten-free oats is in our medium-term plans, however.

Is Niamito heat-treated?
Not entirely. This is true only for ingredients that require heat treatment. Everything that’s there to give Niamito a full, fresh taste is treated only with high-pressure processing (HPP). This allows us to eliminate harmful bacteria without heating and enables us to achieve natural flavor and appearance without using additives, flavor enhancers, or colorants.

What does Niamito taste like?
Delicious. But honestly: you have to try it to believe it. You can choose from 4 different flavors: Blueberry, Strawberry, Spinach and Apple.

Where should I store Niamito?
Somewhere between 2 to 8 °C. If you don’t plan to eat it immediately, the refrigerator would be the best choice.

How do I know if Niamito has expired?
There are two ways. You can check the date printed on the lid, or when you hold Niamito in one hand and your phone in the other, you can scan the QR code on the packaging to find out the expiration date, the ingredients, where they come from, and more.

2. ABOUT TRACEABILITY

Why does every Niamito have a QR code?
In short, because we want you to know what you’re eating. Scanning the QR code reveals information about that specific Niamito bottle you’re holding: the quantities and ratios of the ingredients, their origins, and the production process. We practically track the ingredients from seed to shelf, a fact we’re very proud of. If you’re curious about how the whole thing works, but don’t have a bottle in front of you, click here.

3. ABOUT COLLABORATION

I really like the Niamito concept and I’m interested in potential collaboration (distribution, etc.).
That’s great. We’d love to hear your collaboration proposal. You can send it to us at info@niamito.com.
